Ferndene Care Home
Ferndene Care Home is the latest addition to Monarch Healthcare’s portfolio. The care centre is a purpose built nursing and residential home, offering accommodation, care and nursing for older people and people living with dementia.
The home is spacious, light and welcoming for all residents and their friends and family; benefitting from several comfortable reception rooms, where residents can entertain their guests.
Staff at Ferndene are kind, caring, personable and keen to continue developing their skills; ensuring each resident’s experience is positive. We value all contributions from residents and their family or friends, with any offers of help gratefully received.
Mealtimes are a relaxed and social occasion for residents who enjoy other people’s company. If preferred, meals can be served in a person’s own room. In all cases it is our intention to offer an appetising and varied menu, taking into consideration peoples’ preferences, as well as any medical dietary requirements. Families are welcome (with a little notice) to share a meal with their loved one and we will always make a special fuss for people’s birthdays, anniversaries and other special events throughout the year.
Everything we do is aimed at supporting people to remain in good health, to feel valued and enjoy a fulfilled lifestyle. Our activities co-ordinators and enthusiastic care team are chosen for their willingness to work alongside residents; in order to encourage independence and well-being. With support from a network of community professionals, we believe all residents at Ferndene receive excellent care to enhance their quality of life.

Ferndene offers accommodation and nursing for 48 residents, who require a high level of specialist nursing and treatments.

Staff at Ferndene
At Ferndene we employ a large team of qualified nurses, senior nurses and carers and healthcare assistants to provide 24 hour nursing and care for all residents.
A separate Activities team oversees the recreational programme.
Housekeeping and maintenance provide in-house services to ensure the standards of the home remain high and all health and safety and hygiene regulations are met.
We employ a qualified Chef and Kitchen Assistants to liaise with nurses and residents in the planning and preparation of all meals, catering for a full range of dietary requirements.
All staff undergo thorough recruitment checks prior to starting work at Poplars and an extensive induction and ongoing training programme is in place for all employees.
