Welcome to Woodlands

Woodlands Nursing Home

Support and advice is available from the moment you first contact us.  Your named nurse will conduct a full assessment of your needs and will discuss with you the care you and your family require, as well as all the things that are most important for you.

We consider the views of the individual, their family, friends and key professionals to be equally important to ensuring well being and personal fulfilment.  And therefore promote holistic and inclusive services, based on residents own values systems and choices.

We hold regular review meetings to reflect on your requirements and to get feedback on any issues you may wish to raise. These meetings are carried out by trained staff who are dedicated to putting you first and making sure the service we provide to you is exactly what you want for yourself.

We offer a varied range of entertainment and activities within the home to help residents lead a fulfilled and enjoyable life in the companionship of others.  Our specially trained Activities Co-ordinator arranges a selection of fun and therapeutic activities to help maintain an active mind and body.  Outings and small group activities are balanced with one to one conversation, reminiscence and treasured memories’ working to enhance a person’s quality of life.

Woodlands is situated in very pleasant landscaped gardens, bordered by Carr Wood – a local conservation area, so we often have squirrels and different species of birds visiting the garden, which is a delight for many residents.  During the summer months many residents enjoy a morning coffee or lunch in the garden, listening to the bird song.  The garden is easily accessible and benefits from seating areas and pathways winding around the perimeter of the woodland.

We recognise the importance of mealtimes to an older person and offer a pleasant and relaxing setting.  Our dining rooms are bright and cheerful, encouraging residents to socialise. Menus are prepared in consultation with residents’ choices and to meet all nutritional needs.  All meals are home cooked by our dedicated catering team and should you require anything extra to the menu, you only need to ask.  If you prefer not to eat in the dining room, your meals can be served to you wherever you feel most comfortable.
